Original Art Work – Breathing, Dancing Jacaranda
Breathing – Dancing Jacaranda
Every spring, the jacaranda announces its arrival in a spectacular wash of violet-blue. Across Brisbane, its blossoms have become a quiet marker of the season…an unmistakable reminder to students that exams are drawing near and it’s time to begin preparing. For many, those blooms also bring feelings of anticipation, pressure, and uncertainty.
‘Breathing’ offers a different perspective.
Created through intentional camera movement, this single jacaranda blossom appears to dance gently across a tranquil blue background. Its soft movement invites a pause…a reminder that before we rush forward, we can always return to our breath. This artwork is about finding calm in moments that feel overwhelming. Whether standing on the edge of exams, navigating change, or simply moving through the demands of everyday life, breathing deeply creates space for clarity, resilience, and quiet confidence.
May this piece be a gentle invitation to slow down, inhale deeply, and remember that even in seasons of expectation, there is beauty in moving with grace rather than urgency.
An original photograph on archival, professional quality canvas 79cm x 79cm stretched and framed with an Oak box frame, ready to hang.

Growing up in Australia, the jacaranda has always signalled the arrival of exam season. As students hurried beneath its blossoms, I often thought how ironic it was that such a breathtaking tree appeared during one of life’s most stressful times. Creating Breathing was my way of reimagining that moment…not as a reminder to panic, but as a reminder to pause. Sometimes the most important preparation begins with a single deep breath.
